No Milk Jug is Safe

Tonight, I came out of my room and saw Noah standing in the hallway holding the gallon jug of milk. Of course it was open and about 1/3 full. I was praying he wouldn't drop it on the floor. Then to my horror he started lifting the jug up to his mouth and was going to take a drink of it! YIKES! I quickly said his name to get him to stop, which caused him to start running from me with the jug in his hand!! I just wanted him to stop because I had horrible visions of him dropping it and milk going everywhere. The faster I moved the faster he ran away. When I finally got a hold of him, I asked him what he was doing to which he said, "I just wanted a drink" UGH

School Carnival

Last night was the annual carnival at Lauren's school. There were lots of games, bounce houses, food, etc. One of the new activities they had was a booth called "Crazy Hair" As you can see from the pictures...it was a hit. Enjoy! Have a great Memorial Day weekend.

I beg your pardon?

This morning, Lauren is getting dressed for school. She brings out a new spaghetti strap tank top that she hasn't worn before and she says to me "Mom, what is this thing inside here?". I look inside the shirt and there is a built in bra inside it. So I think to myself..OMG..this is so not a conversation I want to have with a 7 year old at 7:15 AM when she is already pushing the time limit for getting ready for the bus. So I just explained to her what it was and why it was inside her shirt. She says "Oh...OK". Then she proceeds to show me how it can also be used to hold up her shirt if the sleeves fall down. LOL. Guess I don't have to worry about the bra for a while.

Fabulous in Fargo

He did it! Dave finished the marathon. And in a very respectable time too! His time was 4 hours and 13 minutes. It was a beautiful day for racers and spectators too. It was nice to attend a marathon that doesn't have as many people as the Twin Cities marathon because it made it much easier to get around town. We've also been having a great time visiting Fargo and checking out the NDSU campus, places we lived, seeing some old friends, etc. Although it does feel really weird trying to explain to the kids what that all means. The strangest question had to have been from Lauren. We told her we were going to go into another state (North Dakota) and she asked, "Do we have our passports?"

The Marathon Continues

We're off to Fargo in a couple hours for the marathon season debut. Dave is running the first race of the season. He's the runner but I go along to do my own marathon. It's called the hauling, entertaining and chasing down kids marathon. I'm pretty sure I do the more difficult of the two events. We'll see how he does after his 3 broken ribs at the end of March. The dr. in the ER that night was doubtful that he would be feeling good enought to do it. He says they feel fine and he's ready to go. I hope he's right.

7 Years Old!

Today is Lauren's 7th Birthday. It has been a fun couple of days as we celebrated with her. Last Saturday there was a family party. That party was suppose to have been in between 2 soccer games. No one got to see Benjamin & Lauren play soccer due to rain but it was a lot less stressful that way!

On Friday, she had a birthday party with 5 of her friends. She chose a butterfly party and we had lots of different activities that focused on the different stages of a butterfly's life. They painted butterfly wings, had a relay race carrying a butterfly egg (ping pong ball) on a spoon, wrapped each other up in toilet paper cocoons and then "broke" out of them and a butterfly scavenger hunt. The highlights were the pinata and the release of the 4 real butterflies that we had watched grow from caterpillars into butterflies.

There were also small celebrations at school and the soccer game today. She chose to eat her birthday dinner at Subway tonight followed by a trip to the movie store for a DVD to watch. A great celebration.

A Date with a Younger Man

Tonight was the annual Moms Night at Benjamin's preschool. It is a chance for all the students to bring their moms to school and see what goes during a typical day. The theme was "The World of Water" so all the activities were related to that. We made paper frogs, played in the water table, made a taco boat for a snack, listened to the ocean in sea shells and lots of other cool things. Afterwards we went to the Frost & Steam (the local ice cream shop) for some delicious ice cream. It was great to spend time just with him. He really is a funny kid. It's hard to believe that he's soon going to be off to kindergarten.
